About me
Hi, I'm Wes. I began training in Tai Chi in 2000. Before Tai Chi I had studyied a multitude of holistic practices such as yoga, Buddhist meditation and various matial arts - but straight away, Tai Chi provided me with something that combined all of these disciplines, and a glimpse of something more.
Learning the deeper skill set is not easy and takes time (another valuable lesson it has given me). But in 2008, I became a certified Instructor with the Tai Chi & Internal Arts Union for Great Britain and began teaching.
The learning never stops however. By 2012 I was well trained in all aspects of Yang Style Tai Chi and several Qi Gong systems popular in the West and I was developing well as an instructor. In that year however, whilst visiting Hong Kong, I met my teacher, Master Joe Lok, who opened my eyes to levels, wisdoms and insights into these arts that I had previously not thought realistic.
Master Lok is 20th Generation disciple of the Dragon Gate Taoist Tradition and 27th Generation inheritor of the Wudang Sang Feng system - and the founder of the Daogong Nine Ways Eight Methods System.
I trained hard with Master Lok, visiting him twice a year for private training, and hosting him whenever he visited Europe to deliver workshops. In 2016 it was an my great honor to attend his 60th Birthday in Hong Kong and particpiate in the ancient Bai Chi ceremony, formally becomming an 'Inner Door' student of Master Lok - and given the responsibilty of preserving and mastering his sylabus. That was nearly 10 years ago, and although I am now a Senior Level Instructor and former Executive Board Director of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain - my training continues and the deeper I go into these incredible arts the more I recognise that I am still the same beginner I was 25 years ago.

Our unique approach
My approach to teaching is to combine deep insights with the simplest teaching . I don't launch into teaching students to learn confusing choreography or complex systems - that all comes in time if one choses. Instead I focus on developing the internal feelings of harmony, softness, and flowing strength that will not only embue ones movments with the grace and inner wisdom they require for authentic practice, but also give the practitioner the maximum benefit for mind and body - developing a stong, nourished body and a gentle, quiet mind.
Who is Tai Chi for?
We cater for all abilites and all levels. I pride myself on adapting training to meet the needs of the individual. In 25 years I've yet to meet someone that I have been unable to help gain an insight into these facinating art forms - so everyone is welcome!
